About Advenťák Run
In June, we will meet at the start of charity runs in several Czech cities and together, we will run for a good cause. We will donate most of the registration fees to those, to whom their life was not so kind to. Where did this idea come from?
It all began in Berlin
Can you recall the feeling you might have had at the beginning of January after having spent the whole December eating Christmas cookies and drinking eggnog? This is exactly how Babeta, the founder of Advent running, had every year. In 2014, while living in Berlin, she decided to make a New Year's resolution already in December. She went for a run every day until Christmas and shared her runs with her friends on Facebook. It was this personal challenge that gave birth to the first edition of Advent running in 2015. This time, it was back in Prague and she did not run alone, but with a group of friends who supported each other in a Facebook group. At the beginning of Advent, they were 20, by Christmas Eve, the number increased to 250.
Do you want to help even outside of Advent time? Here's how!
Since 2018 we run every Advent and the Advenťák runners turn each of their kilometers into donations. Thanks to them and our sponsors, we provide financial support to those, to whom their life was not so kind to. But we wanted to help not just on Christmas! In 2020 we decided to organize another running Christmas in June and so, the Advenťák run was born. By mid year, we meet in several cities and together we enjoy racing, great time with other Advenťák runners and the feeling that warms our hearts more than the summer sun - the feeling you have, when you are helping those, who need your help.
We also have other projects, that help
Advenťák run in June and Advent running in December. We get donations from companies, but also from Advenťák runners themselves, who turn the kilometers they run into donations. All that during the whole year! To provide another option to help, we have created the Advenťák e-shop. Over there you can buy something nice for yourself or the ones closest to you all year round. And not just that - at least 50 CZK from everything you buy goes to those we are helping!
